SUBJECT: CIRCULAR LETTER: TRAINING-WORKSHOP ON MOBILE PHONE BANKING UTILIZING THE G-CASH PLATFORM

Dear Fellow Rural Bankers:

The Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP), through the Rural Bankers’ Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (RBRDFI) and cooperation with USAID Program, Microenterprise Access to Banking Services (MABS) Program are pleased to announce that it will conduct a comprehensive training-workshop on mobile phone banking, as part of its continuing strategy to strengthen the rural banking industry and to give opportunities to rural banks to access electronically driven financial product and services through mobile phone banking utilizing the G-Cash platform.


Course Title: Training-Workshop on Mobile Phone Banking Utilizing the G-Cash Platform
Venue: Orchid Garden Suites, 620 Pablo Ocampo Sr., Malate, Manila
Schedule: July 19-20 (First Day: 8:30AM-5:00PM; Second Day: 8:00AM-12:00NN)
Duration: 1.5 days

In this connection, we would like to enjoin rural banks, to send their bank officers who are capable of cascading this training to the concern staff of the bank and to assist the implementation of the services. It is recommended that each should send at least Two (2) participants, one (1) from Operations and one from internal audit/compliance departments of the bank. Registration fee is Two Thousand Five Hundred Pesos only (P2,500.00). Early bird registrants (those who will be able to pay on or before July 06, 2007) will only pay P2,000 pesos only.

Should these arrangements meet your approval, we thereby request you to submit to us not later than June 8, 2007 the following:

1. A non-refundable down payment of P1,000.00 per participant. Payments can be remitted to the Rural Bankers Research and Development Foundation, Inc. bank account (Land Bank of the Philippines – Intramuros Branch Savings Account Number 0012-1046-26). Proof of payment (i.e., deposit slip) should be sent immediately to RBAP via facsimile for verification. Our facsimile number is (02) 527-2980. For check payments, check should be payable to Rural Bankers Research and Development Foundation, Inc.;

2. Nomination form of the participant(s) duly endorsed by the bank’s authority;

3. Filled-up Participant’s Profile.

Please be advised that we will be accepting up to thirty (30) participants only. We reserve the right to limit the number of participants to a manageable level. Participants will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Participants who have paid but fail to show up for the seminar will only be entitled to a rebate of 50% of the total registration fee.
