Service Fee for Individual Email Address

January 3, 2007

TO: ALL RBAP MEMBER BANKS
SUBJECT: SERVICE FEE FOR INDIVIDUAL EMAIL ADDRESS

In view of the increased cost in hosting the electronic mail (email) addresses of individual rural banks, Filipino Web Services, Inc, the service provider of the rural banking sector, will be charging an annual fee of P 1,000.00 for the period December 1, 2006 to November 30, 2007. This fee will cover both the cost of usage and operation of the service provider where the email addresses of rural banks are lodged. Filipino Web Services, Inc. has conscientiously provided the rural banks with email service since 2004 free of charge but due to the escalation of servicing cost, it is constrained to charge the aforementioned annual fee.

The fee that is being charged by the service provider is modest considering the scope of coverage and operation that they have to manage for the rural banking sector. Their investment in time and effort to set up the email infrastructure for the rural banks as well as the other technical services they have rendered such as the RBAP website development and maintenance exemplify their interest in the welfare of our sector. More so, the possibility for email hosting outside the system by individual rural banks may very likely be costly since we can keep the cost down because of the number of participating rural banks in our current email service.

Rural banks that would like to continue to be served have until January 15, 2007 to remit their annual payment directly to this service provider. Then after, non-payment of their email accounts would result to the suspension of their email service. Contact details are as follows:
