Rang-ay Bank, the biggest rural bank in the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary on Jan. 14. A luncheon program called Gintong Pasasalamat will kick off the year-long celebration at the Ilocandia Hall of the Oasis Country Resort in San Fernando City.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr. will be the guest of honor and speaker. During the program, Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) Acting President Gilda E. Pico will lead the ceremonial Toast at the launching ceremonies of the Rang-ay Bank Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and Website (www.rangaybank.com).
Rang-ay Bank, the first privately-owned bank in the province of La Union, started as a single-unit rural bank on Jan. 16, 1956. Its founders were civic-spirited leaders of the region, led by Doña Numeriana Tavora-Querol and Don Teofilo A. Nisce. Rang-ay Bank preently operates 10 branches spread out in the two regions. Four more are set to open this year, bringing to the total to 15 end 2006.
Gintong Pasasalamat will start at 12 noon with Ives Q. Nisce, the bank’s president and chief executive officer, delivering the welcome remarks, followed by a preview of the bank’s latest audio-visual presentation and the singing of its corporate jingle.
Among the special guests are La Union Governor Victor F. Ortega and wife, San Fernando City Mayor Mary Jane Ortega, who will both deliver their messages and congratulatory resolutions. Rang-ay chair Eufrosina Q. Nisce will also give an anniversary message.
Earlier in the program, Rotary PDG Rudy Nisce Foundation president Silverio Mangaoang Jr. will present the donations to the foundation named after Rang-ay’s first president, lawyer Rodolfo Nisce.
Senior manager Ives Jesus C. Nisce will give the closing remarks after the awarding ceremonies. The program proper will be followed by entertainment numbers featuring singer-actress-comedian Marissa Sanchez.
