Memorandum on Christmas Party of December 9, 2004 and RBAP Relief Coordination Center Launch |
|
TO: Fellow Director, Officers and Staff FROM: (Sgd.) SENEN D. GLORIOSO, President RE: December 9, 2004 Christmas and RBAP Relief Coordination Center Launch DATE: 07 December 2004 Last year, RBAP held memorably well its traditional Christmas Party. This year, I consulted most of you and most agreed to postpone the holding of the party to observe austerity, and more importantly, to give way to the launch of "RBAP Relief Coordination Center." My proposal is for all RBAP Directors to spearhead the campaign in each respective region. The affected areas are Bicol (Catanduanes, Camarines Sur and Norte), Quezon, Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, Cagayan Valley and Samar. The distribution of relief goods can be handled by the directors for these affected regions in coordination with the incumbent federation presidents. Hopefully, we will be able to contribute to ease the pain and suffering of our unfortunate brethren and victims of the tropical depressions. More importantly, we renew our pledge to serve the objectives of the RBAP in putting RBs closer to the challenges of development and progress amidst the present state of the economy. For my part, I am personally contributing initial cash donation to seed the fund which i propose to be called the "RBAP Sagip Tulong Fund." The fund will accept cash donations up to January 2005. This fund shall be recorded separately and will be disbursed to the victims directly through the Federations in the affected areas in amounts depending on the severity of damages sustained by the province, and through other agencies such as Red Cross, National Disaster Coordinating Council and charitable institutions that are primarily undertaking relief works and rehabilitation of families rendered homeless, orphaned and destitute by the typhoons. The Excom shall decide on the disbursements and beneficiaries. The Association will, however, hold a private and simple commemoration of Christmas to thank each other and recognize the staff efforts in making the Association more relevant to our members' welfare. I urge you to be part of the "RBAP Sagip Tulong Fund." Cash and donations in kind will be accepted. Goods, clothes and medicines shall be distributed on or before Christmas Day. Cash donations could be remitted to the RBAP Bank Account (LBP - Intramuros Branch Savings Account No. 0012-1029-09). Kindly fax proof of deposit for record purposes at Telefax Nos. (02) 527-2969; (02) 527-2980. |
