Issuance of BSP Certification to Meet SEC’s GIS Requirement |

GLORIOSO, President DATE: AUGUST 5, 2004 SUBJECT: ISSUANCE OF BSP CERTIFICATION TO MEET SEC’S GIS REQUIREMENT Dear Fellowlow Rural Bankers, We are pleased to inform you that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has agreed to issue certifications to rural banks “attesting, based on records, whether or not BSP reportorial requirements, particularly the submission of audited financial statements and the consolidated list of stockholders and their stockholding have been complied with” by the rural bank for years 2002 and earlier. Please refer to the attached letter issued by Atty. Wilfredo Domo-ong dated 19 July 2004. This BSP certification can be submitted by rural banks to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as compliance of the said bank with the reportorial requirement of SEC, mainly the General Information Sheet, for the covered years. For 2003 and onward, rural banks are already obliged to file the required reports with the SEC and penalties shall be imposed upon banks that fail to comply thereto. Please submit your request to Atty. Wilfredo B. Domo-ong, SED IV Director, BSP. Alternatively, RBAP, through its Business Center, can submit and follow-up requests for certification done in behalf of its provincial members in order to facilitate the rural bank’s compliance with government regulations.
