RBAP's Permanent and Alternate Representative to the FSLC (02 August 2004)

02 August 2004

DIR. VICENTE S. AQUINO
Executive Director
Anti-Money Laundering Council Secretariat
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex

Dear Dir. Aquino,

The Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines lauds the approval of the creation of the Financial Sector Liaison Committee (FSLC) by the Anti-Money Laundering Council which shall serve as the switchboard in the dialogue/consultation of covered institutions (CIs) and the AMLC. Indeed, this initiative will significantly contribute to and facilitate the immediate dissemination of AMLC directives, rules and regulations as well as the CIs’ compliance to the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001 as amended.

In this light and as requested, RBAP agrees to be a member of the FSLC. I shall act as RBAP’s permanent representative and Mr. Jobel G. Chua (RBAP Treasurer) will be my alternate representative for the year 2004-2005.

We would like to assure you that RBAP will strongly support the initiatives of the AMLC in combating money laundering in the Philippines with the hope that our country will soon be removed from the negative list of the Financial Action Task Force.

Very truly yours,

(SGD.) SENEN D. GLORIOSO
President
