Study Group to Bolivia

The study group will observe current best practices in selected successful microfinance institutions (such as PRODEM, Banco Sol, Pro Mujer, Caja Los Andes, etc.) and the superintendency of banks. The study’s group objectives, in broad strokes are to:
1. study the approaches used by the successful MFIs in expanding their markets and outreach and keeping good portfolio quality
2. study how MFIs are organized for achieving efficiency and a successful MF operation
3. visit with the superintendency of banks for an overall appreciation of the regulatory and supervisory environment that promotes microfinance in Bolivia.
